Council for Interior Design Accreditation Board elects officers, appoints new directors

Jan Johnson, FIIDA, Vice President of Design and Workplace Resources at Allsteel (Chicago) is currently serving a one-year term as the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) Board Chair effective January 1, 2019. Johnson represents industry on the CIDA Board. Katherine Setser, ASID, IIDA, IDEC, NCIDQ, Assistant Professor in the Architecture + Interior Design Department at Miami University (Ohio) and Board liaison to the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ), was elected as CIDA’s Chair-elect. CIDA Director Trevor Kruse, FIDC, FARIDO, Principal at Hudson Kruse Design (Toronto) and Board liaison to the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC), was elected Secretary-Treasurer.  

Two new Director appointments were made to the nine-member CIDA Board. Felice Silverman, FIIDA, was appointed as liaison to the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Silverman is Principal at Silverman, Trykowski Associates, Inc. (Boston). Vincent G. Carter, FASID, NCIDQ was appointed as Accreditation Commission representative on the CIDA Board of Directors. Carter is a Senior Program Manager with the Department of Homeland Security and a Facilities Management consultant at Vincent G. Carter Associates, Inc. (Baltimore).

The Council for Interior Design Accreditation is an independent, non-profit, accrediting organization responsible for setting standards and evaluating degree-granting interior design programs. There are 179 CIDA-accredited programs in the U.S., Canada, Qatar, and the UAE.
