Council for Interior Design Accreditation Board appoints new director
The Council for Interior Design Accreditation (formerly FIDER) Board of Directors recently appointed Heather Robertson Corrigan, BID, FIDC, to serve as a director, representing the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC). Robertson Corrigan is the president of Robertson MacLean Design Limited in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. She is a founding member of the Association of Interior Designers in Nova Scotia and has been involved in successfully establishing the Interior Design Practice Act for the province.
A vacancy on the board was created by the resignation of Keith Hooks, IIDA, AIA, Hooks Design + Architecture, in San Francisco, due to business commitments. The CIDA Board acknowledged Hooks many significant contributions to accreditation of interior design education since 1984. He made numerous site visits to evaluate programs seeking accreditation, led the Standards Committee through a comprehensive standards revision project, and provided outstanding leadership as chair of the Accreditation Commission. Hooks was appointed to the board in 2006. “No volunteer leader has been more steadfast to our mission, is more warmly regarded, or better respected among our colleagues,” noted Joe Pettipas, board chair.
