Mattson to become executive director of the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (formerly FIDER)
Grand Rapids, MI. The Board of Directors has appointed Holly Mattson to serve as the executive director of the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (formerly FIDER), beginning July 1, 2006. Mattson has worked for the organization since 1993, progressively assuming more responsibility, and was named deputy director one year ago.
“We are fortunate that our search for a new executive director brought us back home to an experienced and highly qualified individual. Holly has extensive knowledge of standards development and the accreditation process. She has demonstrated her capacity to effectively manage strategic organizational growth and provide leadership to our team,” said Joe Pettipas, Board Chair.
Mattson has expertise in developing and applying systems for educational assessment and quality assurance, structuring and presenting programs and workshops, and managing volunteer resources. “She has demonstrated initiative and talent in the effective use of resources and development of innovative, workable, and cost effective solutions. Both the academic community and the profession of interior design will continue to see increased value in accreditation as a result of her work,” according to Pettipas. Previously, Mattson served as director of accreditation. She graduated with honors from Aquinas College, majoring in English and business and is currently an MBA candidate.
