Council for Interior Design Accreditation Board elects officers, appoints new directors
The Council for Interior Design Accreditation (formerly FIDER) Board of Directors re-elected Joseph Pettipas, IDC, as 2006 board chair. Pettipas is vice president and director of interior design for HOK Canada in Toronto. Michael Souter, FASID, of Luminae Souter Associates, San Francisco, was re-elected 2006 secretary treasurer.
Two new members joined the nine-member Council Board. Keith Hooks, Hooks Design + Architecture, San Francisco, was appointed to represent the Council’s Accreditation Commission and provide an up-through-the-volunteer-ranks perspective. Susan S. Szenasy, editor-in-chief of Metropolis Magazine, was appointed to represent the public.
“Keith Hooks comes to the board with a deep understanding of standard setting and the accreditation process,” said Joe Pettipas, board chair. Hooks previously served as chair of the Accreditation Commission and, prior to that, as chair of the Standards Committee. “Susan Szenasy is well-know for her commitment to interior design education and her thoughtful commentary on the need to strive for excellence.”
