Council for Interior Design Accreditation Board appoints new directors
The Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) Board of Directors elected Cary Johnson, FIIDA, as Board Chair. Johnson is Midwest Regional Workplace Leader at Gensler, Chicago. Heather Robertson Corrigan, FIDC, Principal of Robertson MacLean Design Limited, was elected 2008 Secretary Treasurer.
Three appointments were made to the nine-member CIDA Board. Robert Wright, FASID, was appointed as liaison to the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Wright is the President of Bast/Wright Interiors in San Diego. "Robert's extensive experience in interior design, both corporate and residential, in addition to his recent leadership role as president of ASID are significant assets as CIDA moves into the future," according to Cary Johnson, Board Chair.
Kaye Gosline, Creative Director at Milliken Floor Covering Division, was appointed as industry representative. "CIDA is delighted that Kaye has accepted appointment to the Board. Her credentials, career experience, and enthusiasm for the profession are commendable," states Johnson.
John Weigand, IDEC, IIDA, was reappointed to a second three-year term on the CIDA Board, representing accredited programs. Weigand is the Chair of the Department of Architecture and Interior Design at Miami University in Ohio.
The Council for Interior Design Accreditation is an independent, non-profit, accrediting organization responsible for setting standards and evaluating degree granting interior design progrmas. There are 161 CIDA-accredited programs in the U.S. and Canada. For more information about the Board of Directors, go to About Us, Board of Directors.
