Registration is Now Open for CIDA's Virtual Accreditation Workshop Sessions

CIDA is offering four virtual sessions focused on various aspects of the accreditation process. Participants can register for individual sessions or all four sessions for a discounted rate. To register, please visit the CIDA website here.

The following sessions will be offered:

1. CIDA’s Accreditation Process and Important Policies, Friday, February 9 from 10:00 am-11:30 am ET, Cost $100 per person

CIDA staff will review the accreditation process as well as important policies and answer participant questions. 

2. Program Self-study, Monday, February 12 from 12:00 pm-2:30 pm ET, Cost $125 per person

Dr. Rula Awwad-Rafferty, Professor of Interior Architecture and Design, and Chair of the Department of Design and Environments at the University of Idaho, will describe the methods her program used for self-study in preparation for a recent accreditation review. Miranda Craig, MID, BES (Arch), NCIDQ, IDC, Professor of Interior Design at Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, will discuss her program’s approach to writing a Program Analysis Report for a recent accreditation review. This session will include a panel discussion with the presenters. 

3. Organizing a Student Work Display with Physical and Virtual Materials, Friday, February 16 from 2:00-4:30 pm ET, Cost $125 per person 

Dr. Beth McGee, NCIDQ, Assistant Chair of the School of Human Ecology and Assistant Professor of Interior Design at Georgia Southern University, will describe her program’s experience organizing a student work display with both physical and virtual materials. Lauren K. Baumbach, RA, AIA, IIDA, NCIDQ, IDEC, Associate Professor and Chair of the Interior Design and Interior Architecture Department at Thomas Jefferson University, will discuss the physical and virtual student work display her program organized for a recent accreditation review. This session will include a panel discussion with the presenters. 

4. CIDA’s Professional Standards, Friday, February 23 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. ET, Cost $125 per person

Members of CIDA’s Standards Committee and Accreditation Commission will join CIDA staff for a discussion about the Professional Standards and answer participant questions.
